FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NVISION 08, SAN JOSE, CA—AUGUST 25, 2008—NVIDIA and CGSociety today announced the winners of the third NVArt digital art competition. The theme was "Digital Fusion." Artists from around the world were invited to submit computer-generated imagery of "awe-inspiring fusions" of 2D and 3D designs. The winning submissions can be viewed online at http://events.cgsociety.org/NVArt/03/winners.php. "In this competition we asked the entrants to create inspiring design fusions that were more than the sum of their 2D and 3D parts—designs that leap from the page and into 3D on their way into our imaginations," said Mark Snoswell, president of CGSociety, a global organization for digital artists. "Whether rendered flat as 2D or sculpted as 3D, great design distinguishes itself as something special that is far more than the sum of its parts." Selected NVArt award winners will be on display at NVISION 08, an event for visual computing professionals and enthusiasts, on August 25-27, 2008 in San Jose, California. For more information, go to: www.nvision2008.com. NVArt submissions have been showcased recently at the San Jose Museum of Art in Silicon Valley and the Tate Modern in London. Award Winners
